Run with Timbercity at the 2026 Timbercity Red Hill Marathon!

Get ready to lace up and celebrate a milestone year at the Timbercity Red Hill Marathon, happening on 24 January 2026 at the Fish Hoek Sports Fields.

As a brand celebrating its 50th year, Timbercity is proud of its enduring legacy built on craftsmanship, community, and commitment. Our continued partnership with the Fish Hoek Athletic Club for one of the most anticipated events on the Western Province road-running calendar reflects that same dedication to supporting initiatives that bring people together and champion perseverance and purpose. The Red Hill Marathon is a celebration of endurance, community, and craftsmanship, echoing the same passion and perseverance that have driven Timbercity for half a century.

A legacy of endurance and community

The Red Hill Marathon has stood the test of time, attracting athletes from across the country to one of the most scenic routes in the Western Cape. This flagship event serves as a qualifier for both the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon and the legendary Comrades Marathon, giving runners the perfect start to their racing season.

This year’s event features three exciting race options:

  • The Marathon (42.2 km): The ultimate challenge of grit and determination.
  • The Classic (36 km): A unique distance with its own proud tradition.
  • The 13 km Challenge: Perfect for those looking for a fast-paced, scenic run.

Race start times are bright and early at 5:00 am for the 42.2 km and 36 km events, and 6:00 am for the 13 km race, all starting and finishing at the vibrant Fish Hoek Sports Fields.

Crafting a greener future

As part of our #RunGreen commitment, this year’s race encourages all participants to help reduce environmental impact by bringing your own reusable cup/ water bottle to refill at our well stocked water stations. As Timbercity celebrates 50 years of crafting better, we remain dedicated to building a future that’s both strong and sustainable.

Important race day information

  • Prize Collection: All prize winners must be in their club colours when collecting their prizes. Winners must be present at the official prize-giving ceremony, no exceptions.
  • Cashless Payments: In support of Red Hill’s move to go cashless, all prize money will be paid via EFT. Athletes are responsible for collecting their own prize money or making alternative written arrangements with the Event Organiser. Failure to do so will result in prize money being forfeited.

Convenient number collection points

To make your race prep smoother, runners can collect their numbers from two convenient Timbercity locations:

  • Timbercity Montague Gardens
  • Timbercity Tokai

It’s our way of supporting the running community with the same reliability and care that have defined Timbercity for 50 years.
